Microtox and ammonia

I work at the Environmental Ministry IN URUGUAY, we are starting monitoring industrial effluents with microtox and I have problems with microtox and efluents with ammonia. I had tried with sucrose 20,4% but I haven,t got good response, I mean all the test i did, the light output decreasse a lot and no calculations can be done.
Could someone please help me with this problem?.
