Have you looked at/for TMAH (Tetramethyl Ammonium Hydroxide)?

This may be a possibility, especially if toxicity is reduced when the sample goes through a cation-exchange column.

Hydrogen peroxide?

These two compounds have been found in wafer manufacture wwater.
