The species used for testing was delevopled by Dr. Martin Samoiloff and the test organisms and testing procedures are available through EPS Environmental Services, Winnipeg, MB (www.eps-labs.ca). As for setting up a test facility, the development of any bioassay lab involves substantial expertise in the field of toxicology, microbiology and environmental chemistry. Laboratory equipment and supplies are required, and culturing and testing with bioassay organisms requires stingent environment conditions. In order to conduct business in Canada a laboratory should obtain CAEAL accreditation, which involves conducting regular performance evaluations on blind samples of varing toxicity and successfully completing regular audits of laboratory documentation (Quality Manuals, Test Procedures), laboratory staff and facilities. For more information on the nematode toxicity tests feel free to contact my office. You have my number.
