chronic bioassay with corophium

In our lab we try to develop a chronic bioassay with corophium volutator. We put 20 juveniles in 250um sieved testsediment, and after 7 weeks we have the next generation. Endpoints of the test are growth and mortality of the animals we started with, and number of newborn juveniles. A big problem in our test is that with the testsediment also Capitella capitata and harpactoids are entering the sediment, and because testtemperature is 18 deg. C they are growing and reproducing fast and disturbing the test. Does anybody know how to get rid of them without changing the chemical composition of the sediment?
Thanks a lot.
